The paper deals with wondering of Jews about their fate. Whether to acept an adaptation or stubbornly persevere in their own national particularism? It is not an academical question for any Jew. A Jew must have in mind the difference which reaches its top in the metaphors about the Jewish "designation" and "damnation". In an imbued essay, which is a subtle analysis of the Jewish fate and the Jew as an individual, the author writes about the Jewish phenomenon "which can in an instant become a damnation for another man or a whole nation" because, as Ana Ahmatova says, "whether we want it or not, we all share the Jewish fate".
